About the National Chair
Dr. Laurie Wolf, 2010-2011
Laurie Wolf has served as Executive Dean of Student Services for Des Moines Area Community College since 2001, following several years as the school’s Director of Enrollment Management. She has been in the financial aid profession for more than 23 years and has spent the entirety of that time serving students and families in Iowa.
Laurie has been active in her Iowa state association (where she served as 2001-02 president), her regional association, MASFAA (where she served as Delegate-at-Large in 2000-02 and chaired numerous committees), and in NASFAA. As part of her service to the profession at the national level, Laurie has served as a NASFAA Commission Director, a Representative at Large to the Board, and as Chair of the Reauthorization Task Force.
A former recipient of financial aid herself–which she credits for allowing her to achieve her educational and professional dreams–Laurie is a passionate advocate for student access.
